Hi there, I'm Mike Brousseau

I was born and raised in the Niagara Region and have been an educator and technologist for over two decades. It's been an honoured to represent the City of St Catharines and the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake as your trustee since being appointed in 2025.

Over the years, I've been building, implementing, and teaching about innovative educational practices, technologies, accessibility, policy approaches, and privacy at Brock University and our local Municipalities.

I'm a proud Sir Winston Churchill Graduate, have a degree in Interactive Arts and Sciences from Brock University, and work as a Chief Information Officer in Southern Ontario.

Transparency

The School Board is a public institution that runs on public money and should always have the public's best interest in mind. The School Board should always be transparent and accountable to the public.

Fighting Hate

Young people deserve the chance to learn and grow in spaces where they feel safe to be their authentic selves free from hate of any kind 🌈

Community Building

Our schools are a gathering place for teaching and learning, not just for our students, but our whole community. Everyone in our community has a stake in our educational system and should have a stake in the decision making process.

21st Century Skills

Our students are growing up in an ever-changing world that requires an education system that can change with it. The system must continue to grow and adapt to prepare our students and families for the new world they find themselves in everyday.

Funding S.T.E.A.M.

Funding for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math help encourage young people to experiment, build, and explore the world around them in creative ways.
